Bodden plans still up in air

Post by Miami Dolphins jerseys
Two facts came to light last night.
One is that Leigh Bodden, the top cornerback on the open market, spent two days being courted by the Texans and left without a deal. The other is that Bodden and the Patriots have not officially reunited.
Nearly everything else is up for debate.
The NFL Network reported Bodden had re-signed with the Patriots, and ESPN.com's Adam Schefter said an ``agreement-in-principle'' had been reached.
But Bodden's agent, Alvin Keels, disputed both reports via Twitter and via text to the Herald.
Is Keels merely being cautious because the deal hasn't been signed?
Perhaps.
Expect Bodden's future to become clear today.
Bodden, who had five interceptions during the 2009 season, told a Houston Fox TV station before his visit, ``Hopefully I can get things done with the Texans and move on.''
The top free agent on the market now that Dunta Robinson signed with the Falcons, Bodden was expected to command more than $5 million per year.
He exited Houston with the Texans still trying to sign him, but the fact he left at all was noteworthy. It appeared to indicate he was headed back to the Patriots.
Then came the reports of a done deal.
Keels responded by saying Bodden has ``always indicated his desire to return to New England but nothing is official and probably will not be until (today).''
He called reports of re-signing with the Pats ``not true and premature at best. Leigh is still evaluating his options,''
Asked again by the Herald if the ESPN.com report of an agreement-in-principle being reached was true, Keels said, ``Nope.''
