Collins Signs One-Year Tender With Packers

Post by Tampa Bay Buccaneers jerseys
Restricted free-agent S Nick Collins signed his one-year, $3.3 million tender with the Packers on Tuesday. According to his agent, Alan Herman, this is a good-faith gesture on the part of his client as the two sides work toward a long-term contract.
"Based on the tender Nick received and based on Nick's desire to stay with the Packers and to take part in the offseason program, which is something he really wanted to do, he elected to sign the tender," Herman told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "Nick really likes it in Green Bay and wants to stay there. Hopefully, this will help us finalize a deal as we move forward."
Collins, 26, is coming off back-to-back Pro Bowl seasons and has been looking for a new contract for more than a year now. He has 13 interceptions the past two years, returning three for touchdowns.
"We hope to get things moving as free agency moves forward over the next week or so," Herman told the newspaper.
