Wilson: Browns acquire Seneca Wallace

Post by Jacksonville Jaguars jerseys

The Cleveland Browns have acquired Seattle Seahawks backup quarterback Seneca Wallace(notes) via a trade.

According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Browns gave up a late-round 2011 draft pick in exchange for Wallace.

ESPN first reported the trade for the versatile reserve who played for Browns team president Mike Holmgren in Seattle.

The trade should rule out any remaining speculation about Baltimore Ravens backup quarterback Troy Smith being on the Browns’ radar. Smith’s agent has been lobbying for a trade to Cleveland, which is Smith’s hometown.

For his career, Wallace has passed for 25 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
