Mike Holmgren continues putting his stamp on his new team by picking up a player from his old team.
The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer reports the Browns have acquired QB Seneca Wallace(notes) from the Seahawks. Details of what the Browns would give Seattle were not immediately known.
Holmgren drafted Wallace and developed him in the West Coast offense. Wallace has completed 333 of 556 passes (59.9 percent), with 25 touchdowns and 14 interceptions, in his seven-year career.
The trade adds to the intrigue surrounding incumbent QBs Brady Quinn(notes) and Derek Anderson(notes). There has been speculation one or both passes may be moved this offsesaon. Holmgren has said he wants to settle on a starting quarterback before training camp.
Wallace’s acquisition comes on the heels of Cleveland signing a pair of free agents: linebacker Scott Fujita(notes) and offensive tackle Tony Pashos(notes).
